what is promises ? The Promise object represents the eventual completion (or failure) of an asynchronous operation and its resulting value why promises is important ? to get more trust then as compare to a call back function also once the promises is getting a value with become immutable and you cant update / modify the value a promoise can have 3 states only which are as follows - - pending: initial state, neither fulfilled nor rejected. - Fulfilled: meaning that the operation was completed successfully. - rejected: meaning that the operation failed.

1.What is promise ? A promise is an object that represent the eventual completion of an asynchronous function. 2.Why promises are important? We won't blindly believe the call-back function because we lost the control of the function and java-script engine don't wait for the fetching data in API during the runtime . Using promise , we attaching the function and don't passing the function .Java-script engine wait for the fetching data in API using the keyword "then" in promise during the runtime .Promise give three state , they are : pending , fulfilled , rejected.

Can Anyone explain me this if the Cart function is returning an error then the orderID which is passing to the proceedToPayment function should be undefind becoz the Cart function called the reject function not the resolve function

Correction: @5:56 this in Node.js environment points to module.exports object, which is empty by default, so it'll be an empty object {}.
